About Methodist San Antonio

In 2023, Methodist Hospital opened a dedicated space for graduate medical education, designed for simulation training, didactics, and teaching, along with modern resident workspaces and a dedicated continuity clinic.

Training Highlights
Primary Care
Our primary care program emphasizes preventive care, routine check-ups, and early intervention. We are committed to advancing health equity, preparing residents to recognize and address health inequities through meaningful community engagement.
Specialty Care
Rich experience across subspecialties including cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, infectious diseases, hematology/oncology, critical care, and transplant medicine. In-house fellowships launching 2026–2028.
Research
Over 45 active resident-led projects, 20 research faculty, and a dedicated research director. Residents engage in multicenter RCTs, QI projects, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case series, and more.
Resident Life
San Antonio — the 7th largest US city — offers the Alamo, Tex-Mex cuisine, the Riverwalk, modern sensibilities, and rich cultural landscapes. An excellent place to learn medicine and call home.
Wellness Programs
Periodic wellness events, team-building activities, and protected wellness days. Confidential counseling services and generous PTO to maintain work-life balance.
Simulation Center
State-of-the-art simulation center with high-fidelity scenarios from ACLS to EGD/colonoscopy. Immersive, team-based practice builds confidence and competence before real patients.
