Clinical Rotations

Residents adhere to a 4+1 rotation schedule — four consecutive weeks of required or elective rotations, followed by one week of continuity clinic. This minimizes handoffs, improves scheduling predictability, and provides respite between intensive experiences.

Our department provides education for residents at five full-service hospitals and a continuity clinic, all located in San Antonio. Methodist Main Hospital is the largest medical complex of its kind in South Texas, serving as the tertiary referral center for Bexar County and much of the surrounding region.
